This site is designed to share the stories in my family’s history; the well-tended long branches, the leaves that make them up…and the stumps that require lots of digging and prodding (of which there are many).

Since commencing my own family research, I have (like many others) found some information hard to come by. With persistence, gradually piecing bits of the puzzle together, and with the use of much-valued information and help from other researchers, distant relatives and online resources, some of the stumps have turned into leaves…and then branches.  I am therefore also sharing what I have learned in the hopes that it may be helpful to others in their own research efforts. Similarly, if you have any comments or can contribute any new (or different) information, photographs or stories, I would love to hear from you.

It is very much a work in progress, and over time more information will be added.

The blog section is at times non-specific to the family tree; and includes general research posts, ramblings, and the ‘bits and pieces’ – including stumps – that appear along the way.

You are welcome to use the information or family stories included for personal use; if this is the case please feel free to say hi and /or include a link to the site.

  1. I love your blog, I hope you don’t mind if I write some of my stories in the great humor style you have. I am new and can’t seem to get going! I so dearly love your blog stories, keep up the special way you tell your stories.

    • Thank you, Marjorie – what I lovely thing to say. It can be hard to find a starting point and get going (I know what you mean), and by all means please write whatever feels comfortable for you. I look forward to checking out your blog stories. Good luck with it. 🙂
